Privacy Policy

Pulpo collects and uses some reader data to enhance the user experience on its platforms and to develop new products tailored to the audience’s needs.

For this purpose, Pulpo acts by the LGPD (General Data Protection Law), No. 13.709/2018, maintaining transparency in its actions.

How does Pulpo collect data?

About WhatsApp

Pulpo may collect data based on the voluntary subscription of readers to WhatsApp groups managed by this independent news organization.

By joining Pulpo's informational groups (and their projects and products) on WhatsApp, the reader acknowledges that their name, profile photo, phone number, and other information contained therein become known to this news organization and other group members.

To ensure greater control and security for the WhatsApp Community and to prevent spam, Pulpo requests that users interested in joining WhatsApp groups register by email on this website.

Pulpo does not always use this information, but reserves the right to do so if it deems it important for developing or improving its services for readers.

Furthermore, Pulpo notes that if there are contacts, interactions, or other occurrences resulting from the exposure of readers’ phone numbers in WhatsApp groups, the responsibility lies with the users/readers themselves.

Naturally, Pulpo will make every effort to prevent unwanted contact with participants, but WhatsApp itself keeps numbers visible within groups, and there is no way for this organization to hide them.

To be clear, Pulpo is not responsible for inappropriate interactions between group users nor for phone number leaks that may eventually occur as a result.

Pulpo's groups are purely informational. Messages are generally sent daily. There is no interaction.

However, groups linked to Pulpo projects, such as Pulpo Eleitoral, allow interaction among participants. In these cases, the Community Rules apply.

Pulpo also does not disclose or sell data to other companies. Pulpo rarely uses its readers' data, but protects itself through this document from any liability for misfortunes that may occur beyond the organization’s control.

Example: If a participant in one of Pulpo's groups has their WhatsApp cloned/stolen and the scammer contacts other group members, Pulpo is not responsible for this interaction or any consequences arising from it.

By joining the group voluntarily, it is understood that the participant is aware of these terms and accepts that eventualities like this may occur, as well as the exposure of their number to other participants. This is related to WhatsApp, not to us.

Pulpo also notes that these Privacy terms are included in the description of WhatsApp groups managed by this news organization to publicize the principles that guide our work.
